Should the Left support a Basic Income?

2016 will see basic income rise up political consciousness. Trials and referenda will take place across Europe. Should the Left support basic income? Half a century ago, the famous psychoanalyst and Frankfurt School theorist, Erich Fromm, examined the psychological effects of giving everyone a guaranteed income. His thoughts are instructive. Alone it is not enough.
The Basic principles of this Blog is that every person is entitled to the Essentials of Life
1. Food & Clothes
2. Adequate Shelter
3. Effective Medical Care.
4. Life Skills to pursue the accomplishment of your chosen pathway in life.
I have publish this introduction & link to an article about Basic income because I believe that is a necessary program in the coming age of Technology & Robotics that will eliminate the old methods that require much Human Labor. To produce Goods & Service is irrelevant if you do not accompany it with a method to distribute the Bounty that will become available to us in the 'NEW AGE".
